[5.4 oz (153 g)] I normally don’t make reviews, but I thought someone should come in and defend the honor of this gadget after a couple less-than-stellar reviews. For a DSLR/Mirrorless shooter, this thing is a must-have. It’s just a supremely handy thing to have in your bag when you need it. When I’m shooting for the big screen, or need isolated audio tracks or phantom power, I’ll pull out my MixPre. But for simple web videos when that’s overkill (whether interview or run-n-gun b-roll), this thing’s great when you want to get 2 audio sources into the 3.5mm input on your camera. Obviously, there’s no pre-amps or phantom power, so I tend to only use with sources that have their own built-in preamps (like wireless mic receivers or a Røde videomic pro). I can lav up two subjects with my Sennheiser wireless mics and record each subject to a separate channel on my camera (on on the left, one on the right), which is amazing flexibility to have. Or I can run a wireless lav into one channel and my Røde Videomic Pro into the other and have that great lav/shotgun flexibility. All in all, can’t say enough good things about this device. Dollar-for-dollar, no device expands the audio capabilities of a DSLR/Mirrorless camera like this thing does. Just make sure you set your expectations right. And that means plugging in devices that boost their own signal.

[1 lb] I immediately bought this when it was newly released. I have one of my mirrorless camera and two rode wireless go to broadcast livestream events. The designed was really perfect to fit the wireless go mics. Easy set up to plug both camera and device and ready to go. You need to follow instrunction for installation and everything go smoothly. I actually bought another one for the other camera. Highly recommended for this new product

[Yes] Wireless options for Sony cameras are limited. I own a Nissan i40 for my Sony mirrorless cameras that works quite well, so I took a chance on the new Di700A flash kit with the Air 1 Commander. The instructions were a bit hard to decipher but the set up was generally very easy and worked flawlessly. I've had zero problems getting the on camera commander and the flash unit to communicate and changing modes and flash power in the different modes is simple and works well (once you memorize which button does what). I have been using the flash to take photos of hummingbirds with my new A7RII Sony mirrorless camera. I am quite happy with this solution to the off camera wireless problem for Sony cameras. Plus the price is VERY reasonable.
