Wireless Modem For Laptop Computer

[Lead-Acid] I have two of these UPS's, one for the computer/Firewall/Modem/Wireless, the other for the Plasma TV/Stereo/Audio Amps. They have been running now many yrs. They also have a great insurance plan for anything connected to them, $. If you need to replace the battery, which over time it will happen, it is easy. If you can find one cheaper, buy it.

[0.02 lb] The Netgear AC600 increased the speed of my computer but made it WiFi compatible without the need of a second modem.

[1x 3-Prong] Plug requires Unifi wireless AP, once adopted setup is easy, only a few options to setup, Unfi OS takes it from there. Handy if ISP modem or other device is far away. Unfi can reset modem automatically when it detects high latency, or user can cycle plug manually by from within Unfi device list

[802.11ax] I recently had my internet provider to increase my speed (from 150mbps download to 330mbps). It turned out that my old Wi-Fi card that I had on my PC couldn't quite handle the speed even though it was rated that it can. I bought this card out of curiosity just to see if it was the PC that was causing the bottleneck and not the card. Once I installed it, the download transfer rate just about doubled compared to the old card. In fact, the speed is about the same I'm getting if I had the network cable connected directly from the modem to the PC Ethernet port itself. Anyway, I would advise anyone to first check their wireless router or wireless modem/router to see what Wi-Fi standard it uses. If you still using an old modem/router, this card will only go as fast as that set up allows it to.

[256 MB ] Product was easy to set up. This was a replacement for an existing wireless network; the network set up was working internally right out of the box but I had no internet access; there was some trouble with my modem recognizing the new router. ASUS tech support was easily reached (on hold 2-3 minutes or so), and the tech was well-drilled in troubleshooting procedures. They correctly determined the issue with my modem and recommended steps that fixed the problem. Love the Powerline connection between the two units! Great range, even reaches outdoors.

[Aluminum] Very easy set-up. There is a Modem setup and config page similar to wireless routers. You can see how much data is used, set limits, passwords, etc. You can plug the modem's wired connection to a wireless router to give you additional connections I am using this in Canada with a national carrier called Rogers Communications.

[4] The router is easy to set up and link to internet modem. Wireless logon from computers, laptops, phones and even tvs is quick and painless.

[9.2 x 6 x 3"] I often use my modem on, a Windows 10 computer, to make phone calls, and need to hear the dial-up sounds - to make sure the call is going through, and there is no busy signal. I tried 2 other modems (Lenovo & Sewell) that didn't produce dial-up sounds. Based on the recommendation of a US Robotics tech support rep., I tried the US Robotics model USR5639. It does make dial-up sounds, and dials very fast.
