This Heavy Duty Wall Mount Base mounts the two-joint mic arm to the wall. It is sturdy and perfect for the job. I mounted it at about shoulder-height for me, which makes the boom arm go low/high enough for any of my student voice talents that may use my booth. In order to make this mount fit a standard 2x4 stud, behind the double 5/8 drywall, I needed to manufacture a custom wooden block made out of a 2x4. This allows the horizontal mounting holes of the wall-mount to be fastened to the wooden block, while the block is mounted securely to the wall with two vertically positioned 4 screws through the drywall and into the stud. The two 4 screws are hidden by the wall-mount once the mount is attached to the block by the four shorter screws. 5 |
