Zeiss 55Mm F 1.8

[35mm] I used to have the Zeiss 55mm 1.8 and it was everything they said about it but it didn't felt right for my, this sigma is not as sharp as the 55mm, nor as an 85mm but it's unique look makes it an amazing portrait lens, the rendering is really good and I prefer the warmer colors from sigma, I had the 65mm before and sold it for the 55 but now I got it back again also because of the weather sealing the 65mm is a well rounded option.

[28mm] One of the best lenses in my kit along with my Zeiss Otus 55mm and my Zeiss Otus 28mm lenses.

[1/2.7"] Incredibley smooth bokeh! Without a doubt the best at this price. Very sharp, too, capable of outresolving the A7RIV when stepped down. Far better than the Sony 50mm F/1.8. Optically I'd compare this to my Sony ZA 55mm F/1.8! Equally sharp, and even better aberration handling compared to the ZA 55mm. The bokeh from this lens is what's truely special. The optical design seems to be based on the classic Sonnar layout, but with a few extra elements to remove abberations. The end result is you get bokeh that's far better than any vintage SLR lens, completely blowing away every 50mm on any SLR and even DSLR, even Sigma's own Art series. This is possible due to the shorter flange distance on mirrorless cameras, allowing the sonnar design to fit without extending into the mirror box! This is truly a special lens, and the only comparable lens are the GM and ZA Sony lens. Nothing else comes close.

[Multi Coated] Used on the Zeiss 55mm prime. Great coverage over the whole lens. Perfect for keeping the f-stop wide open in bright conditions and enhancing the depth of field.

[Bayonet] Despite being very expensive, I bought this hood for Sony Zeiss 35mm and 55mm lenses. It's all metal construction and matches the lenses perfectly. It does the job as it's designed to do and looks great.

[66 to 68 mm] Ordered four for Zeiss Contarex 25mm, 35mm, 55mm and 135mm glass. Perfect Fit. Fast and Easy. Great value.

[58 mm (Front)] Youd think for the price this would have some flaws. At f.1/4 its pretty sharp at f.2 its razor sharp. I did not look at the outer edges of the frames as Im concerned with my subject. Good buy for the price.

[Belt Loop] Great quality lens case, and fits my Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 lens like a glove. Can never go wrong with Portabrace.

[Rubber] I lost the cap to my Zeiss Toiut 1.8/32 and boy, that was a $ mistake. I can attest to the quality of this lens cap though. It is a very tight fit and it looks pretty schnazzy too. My best advice is don't lose your lens cap.

[0.135 lb] Schott glass and multicoating are what B+W are known for. I used this ND 1.8 on a Hasselblad with Carl Zeiss lens to shoot long exposures. Don't put window glass in front of your good lenses.
