[Stills & Video] I am coming from the Sony A7RIII and been with Sony for the last 10 years and switch to the S1R this April and have not looked back. The user experience and the output I get from the S1R is just superb. When I had the A7RIII the Sony/Zeiss 50mm F1.4 ZA stayed glued to my camera. So when I switched over to the S1R I needed a 50mm so naturally I picked up the Panasonic 50mm and boy I am happy I did. The color, sharpness, rendering (it has a Leica rendering to it) the micro-contrast, bokeh and the handling is just aswome. And the manual clutch is simply a nice touch. The CA is non-existing, that was the problem I had with the Sony/Zeiss 50mm; it didn't perform good wide open. (please don't get me wrong, the Zeiss/Sony 50mm is an underrated good lens, but not a good as the Panasonic 50mm F1.4 Pro) FYI: I originally brought this lens new for $2300, but I returned it because it had a cosmetic imperfection, but a used one became available for $1950, mint condition, so I got that one instead. (I am equally happy) Is it worth it? To me, yes, but to others it may not. The Sigma Art 50 will be plenty good for most people when the native version becomes available. I got the Panasonic because I wasn't certain if the Sigma would be good enough to resolve the 47.3 MB from the S1R, I am not certain if the native sigma AF will work as good as the native Panasonic (it should because they have the L-Mount protocols) and I couldn't wait. If you are on the fence on getting this lens or the Sigma, I would say just rent both to see what works best for you. I hope this post helps someone. Thank you for reading 5 |

[Sony E] Works great with a vintage Zeiss (Voightlander) Ultron 50mm F/1.8 on a Sony A7R5. It also looks like it was made for the camera. 5 |

[Bayonet] What an excellent lens. Its more useful to me than my 15mm Zeiss and is getting nearly as much use as my Milvus 50mm. 5 |

[f/2] I have to be honest, the price of the lens was for a long time an obstacle for me. I already own a 50mm 1.8 Nikkor, so spending over $1200 for another 50mm was really a struggle for me. I have spent days and days reading different reviews and experiences from different photographers... but in my heart I knew I wanted a Zeiss on my D750. As soon as I spotted the discount - I ordered! To cut the story - it works perfect!! Brings out the full potential of that sensor. Mind blown with how colors are true and vivid. Sharpness - well, it is a known fact for a Zeiss, so it is not a surprise. My wife noticed immediately that photos look 3D-ish compared to the ones I have taken with other lenses. And that was exactly what I was looking for. Manual focus is very precise and EASY to use. I have used it only handheld so far and had a very small number of missed focus. Even my sister ( who doesn't use DLSR in real life ) took some great photos of me... spot on focus. I was never into a macro, but this close focusing possibility really gives me more room to be creative. 1:2 ratio is just enough for me. The lens is superb! I enjoy every single photo that came through this lens. 5 |

[0.25 lb] This allows me to achieve infinity focus. Nough said. Can now use my Contax Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 on my Nikon D800E. 5 |

[ARRI PL] Is it equivalent to the 50mm Arri/Zeiss Master Anamorphic ? Probably not. But optically & mechanically, it's a very nice lens. You can easily switch from the native PL mount to an EF mount with a $150 adapter (or go very 1st class with SLR Magic's own Titanium adapter). It offers full-frame coverage. And you can add 82mm close up lenses (diopters) to get much closer than the lens's 3.5' minimum. For Run_n_Gun, leave your Matt Box & rails behind & use an 82mm lens hood. The lens is small and light enough so you can use it hand held. The travel case is a nice touch, too. It's a bit more affordable (and a lot lighter) than the 50mm Arri/Zeiss Master Anamorphic. In fact, it's probably the most affordable way to get a true anamorphic lens. Last, but not least, B & H has been very easy to deal with. 5 |

[0.07 lb] I got this for a Zeiss Milvus 50mm lens. I don't shoot video, I only wanted a better focus ring grip for the long focus throw on this lens, around 270 degrees. This works very smoothly and looks like it belongs on the lens. I can recommend this product, but be sure you order the right size. There is some stretch to this rubber ring, but not much. 5 |

[0.09 lb] I bought the 58mm to fit on my Zeiss 50mm/1.4 Planar T*. I pair it with my Z6 as my designated B&W camera body. The filter makes all the difference in the world in both landscape and people rendering wonder contrast. I seldom remove it from the lens. 5 |

[9] Just as one would expect of a Zeiss lens, the 50mm macro performs magnificently whether in a close focus mode, I.e. macro, or focusing on a farther subject. It is a great portrait lens. One thing, though: the focus is slow at times and it may hunt/struggle a little when going from infinity to macro or vice versa. Not a big deal really, this not an ideal lens for sports or moving bullets. In summary it’s a worthy addition to my Fuji lenses. 5 |
